Confession involves the naming of specific sins, and saying the same thing about them that God says. Seeing sin as God sees it. The reason people don't confess sin is because they do not agree with God, but confession of sin is imperative because it brings a cleansing, a restoration of fellowship, and it renews confidence in the Christian based upon Christ’s atoning work at the cross.
